Dear Delegates and Advisors,

It is my pleasure to invite you to the third annual John Jay Model United Nations Conference on November 19th, 2016 at John Jay High School in Cross River, New York. Model United Nations allows ambitious and intellectual high school students to debate, write about, and solve some of the most outstanding issues of our time. The typical Model UN student is passionate, articulate, writes persuasively, and possesses interpersonal skills that frequently exceed expectations. Model UN is one of the most academically acclaimed clubs for high schoolers, and imparts students with the dexterity that is so vital to functioning in the outside world. JJMUNC is looking to bring a unique experience to both novice and veteran delegates alike. As one of the only Model UN conference in Westchester, JJMUNC will allow delegates to meet students in the surrounding area with similar interests, all the while providing delegates with plenty of opportunities to debate and discuss topics of importance. Given JJMUNC’s date in the first couple of months of the school year, the Secretariat anticipates that this will be a training conference for many delegates. With that being said, experienced delegates are encouraged to attend as well: the Secretariat has been working tirelessly to make sure that delegates of all skill levels will be provided for. Model UN is well known at John Jay for being a club that is both rigorous in its expectations and rewarding in all of its opportunities. Regardless, Model UN has had a huge influence on our members lives’, socially, culturally, and academically. It is hard to fall in love with Model UN without attending a conference. Through JJMUNC we provide other delegates with the same fabulous experiences that other Model UN organizations has afforded our own students.
Sincerely,
Daniel Gordon
Secretary-General
